The Iron Blosam Lodge is named after a historic Little Cottonwood Canyon Mining Claim “Iron Blosam,” hence the phonetic spelling.The rugged concrete and iron structure is dressed with displays on historic mining artifacts and vintage skis. Iron Blosam was fully opened in the fall of 1975, although there was some occupancy during final phases of construction in 1974.

Iron Blosam was one of the first timeshare properties in the world and was the first timeshare development in a ski area in North America. The Iron Blosam has been extensively remodeled and upgraded with the most recent room renovation being completed in 2004.
